Academic Probation and Advice to Transfer

At OCGS, students are expected to be dedicated to their academic progress. Students are also expected to demonstrate                initiative by seeking teacher help in those subjects with which they are struggling.
The purpose of academic probation is to encourage students who are not doing well to carefully assess their role in their                academic progress and make necessary changes.

1. Elementary: Students who receive failing final grades in two subjects or more will be placed under Academic Probation in          the subsequent year or may be advised to transfer.

2. High School: Students who incur failing final grade in two subjects or more will be placed under Academic Probation in the        subsequent school year. Students who fail in 3 subjects or more will be advised to transfer.

3. Students under Academic Probation may be required to do Study Period or take remedial classes after school hours.

4. Students under Academic Probation who fail to show improvement by the end of the school year may be advised to transfer.

5. Students who incur absences of more than 20% of the prescribed number of classes during the school year shall be                  dropped from the roll after due process and shall be given a failing final grade for the subject(s).
